The Louisiana Center for Women's Health prioritizes the well-being of its patients, offering top-notch gynecological care. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that women have their first gynecologic visit between the ages of 13 and 15, or when they become sexually active, whichever comes first. After the initial visit, the frequency of visits will depend on several factors, including the woman's age, medical history, and risk factors for certain conditions. We recommend annual visits for healthy women, and more frequent visits if there are risk factors or if new symptoms appear. Remember: a visit to the gynecologist is more than just a Pap smear.
