Hormone Replacement Therapy
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a medical treatment in which the hormones you are lacking are replaced in order to alleviate the symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, mood changes, decreased sex drive, etc.
The most common hormones used are estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. It is important to measure your hormonal status with laboratory tests and adjust the levels for optimum performance.
We offer "hormone pellets" which are hormones contained in small timed-release pellets. HRT pellets are inserted under the skin in the office. They typically last for a period of several months. HRT requires periodic monitoring for optimum results. HRT pellets are generally considered to be much more effective and convenient than oral, topical, or injectable methods of hormonal supplementation.
