Vaser Liposuction

Vaser liposuction is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses ultrasound energy to liquefy and remove excess fat from the body. It is a type of advanced liposuction that is known for its ability to target specific areas of the body, such as the thighs, hips, abdomen, and arms.

Vaser is performed in the office under local anesthesia which offers convenience and savings from procedures performed in a hospital or surgery center.

During the procedure a small incision is made in the targeted area and a small probe is inserted that emits ultrasound energy. The ultrasound energy liquefies the fat, which is then suctioned out through a small cannula. Because the ultrasound energy specifically targets fat cells, it can be more precise and less invasive than traditional liposuction.

It is important to understand liposuction is not a weight reduction method but instead it is a size reduction method for removal of fat from local regions.

You should be aware that there are other devices promoted for localized removal of fat using freezing and other energy methods which are of questionable effectiveness. Vaser actually liquefies and removes the fat.

Vaser liposuction is generally considered safe and effective, but as with any surgical procedure, there are risks and potential complications, such as infection, bleeding, and anesthesia-related problems. Recovery time can vary depending on the extent of the procedure and the patient's individual healing process, but most patients can return to their normal activities within a few days to a week. We have been performing Vaser for over 20 years. Consult with us to determine if Vaser liposuction is the right choice for your individual needs and goals.
